Gold and sapphire are durable materials, which is part of why we work in them. A little attention keeps a piece close to how it looked the day it arrived.

Storing
Keep each piece in its Talismania pouch or box, and apart from the others. Gold is soft enough to mark, and stones set close together will find each other in a drawer.

Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap, and a soft brush. Rinse well and dry with a lint-free cloth. For everyday upkeep, a soft polishing cloth is enough.

What to avoid
Take pieces off before swimming, cleaning, or applying lotion, perfume, and sunscreen. Chlorine and household chemicals dull gold over time, and anything abrasive will scratch it.

On wear
Montana sapphires sit at 9 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond. They are built for daily wear. Gold is more forgiving of time than of chemistry — it collects small marks with use, which most people come to prefer.

Repairs
